I'm using an NVR. What port do I open?
Open port 5000
Where are my remote snapshots saved?
Remote snapshots are saved on the phone or tablet that takes the snapshot.
Does the camera have IR night vision?
Yes!
Does the camera have motion detection?
Yes!
How does the IDoorBell Fon store my videos and images?
The IDoorBell Fon system saves your videos and images onto a local SD card. No HASSLE or FEE’s with the cloud.
Does the IDoorBell Fon system use WiFi or Ethernet connections?
Both! Just choose the method the best fits your application.
How do I save images and videos?
Most IDoorBell Fon devices will have slots for SD cards.
Are there any monthly fees?
No, there are no hidden fees and no reoccurring charges.
Can I get notified via text messaging?
Yes! Go to Settings > Alarm Settings > Alarm email > Other email addresses and enter your text message email information. Check out this list for your SMS carrier.
How do I record video?
The IDoorBell Fon system uses SD cards up to 64GB in size to record video locally. 1 GB can record approximately 3 hours of video. Remove the back panel to access the SD card slot on the circuit board.
My camera image is upside down.
Go to Settings > Picture and Sound and toggle the “Reverse Image” option on or off.
I'm trying to switch my connection from Ethernet to WiFi, but it won't let me!
There are several possibilities:
- When switching over to WiFi, it can take several minutes for the WiFi list to populate. Please wait for the “loading” icon to finish.
- The IDoorBell Fon device is too far from the WiFi router. Please use a WiFi extender or situate the router closer to IDoorBell Fon. The typical range for WiFi is 150ft.
- Please make sure your phone or tablet is connected to the same WiFi network that you are trying to switch to.
How do I add more than one phone or tablet to my DP68 camera?
Your Primary phone/tablet will generate a QR code that can be scanned by secondary accounts. The secondary account will automatically be linked.

My Secondary phone/tablet is not receiving notifications that someone is at the door, but I can view the camera just fine.
On the primary account, go into Settings > Alarm Settings > Alarm push account and “Add alarm pushing account”.

Can I view my camera on my PC?
Yes! Download the CMS client here. Voice communication is currently unavailable.
Questions specfically for DP68 Door Stations
Will my wireless chimes work when my internet or network is down?
Yes, the wireless chimes are RF-based, so they will work regardless of whether or not your internet or network is down.
How many wireless chimes can the IDoorBell Fon handle?
Unlimited — as long as they’re in range.
Can I communicate with the person at the door?
Yes, there is 2-way communication as soon as you’re connected.
Can I unlock my door with my phone?
Yes, if you have a 12V electrike strike or maglock, the IDoorBell Fon system provides a wet contact to open your door from your phone.
Can I add an exit button to open my lock?
Yes, an alarm input is provided for dry contacts to open the relay.
Can I add a card reader to open my lock?
Yes, an alarm input is provided for dry contacts to open the relay.
Can I add a keypad to open my lock?
Yes, an alarm input is provided for dry contacts to open the relay.
Does the IDoorBell Fon system work with Normally Open locks?
Yes, a 12V wet contact is provided.
Does the IDoorBell Fon system work with Normally Closed locks?
Yes, a 12V wet contact is provided.
If my WiFi or internet is down, how can I tell someone is at the door?
If your internet is down, but your Local Area Network and WiFi is still up, just make sure your phone or tablet is connected to the samenetwork and it will still work!
If both are down, pair one of the wireless chimes that comes with the IDoorBell Fon system with the main Door Station and the wireless chime will ring even without internet! This is because the IDoorBell Fon uses radio frequency to active the chime.
How does the IDoorBell Fon call my phone?
The IDoorBell Fon system uses WiFi to notify your phone or tablet. Even if your internet is down, it can still notify you if you’re on the same WiFi network.
Can I open an electric strike or mag lock with the IDoorBell Fon?
Yes! The IDoorBell Fon DP68 Door Stations provide a 12V wet contact that can be Normally Open or Normally Closed. There is also an input to connect a keypad or card reader.
